Implied Sphere
The implied sphere project involved creating a form within a sphere, all made of paper and/or Bristol board. After creating two mock-ups of my best ideas for the project, I settled on this final piece, which went a bit beyond the project requirements of creating a form inside an implied sphere without using any glue. While many students included solid forms within their sphere rather than an implied form, I could not decide between the solid form and implied form, so I filled the implied form with the solid form to add another dimension to the project.
Paper Object
The paper object project required us to select an object to build to scale using various types of white paper and foam core, with the slight twist to the project that we had to choose two places to slice through the object. I chose to create the camera that I was using at the time. This choice proved to be a choice that would make my work incredibly difficult because of the many compound curves in the form of the camera. While I found some of these curves to be achievable, others had to be disguised with additional details, and some had to be changed into slightly different forms.
Continuous Wire
The continuous wire project required us to create dynamic sculptures inspired by a song. We were challenged to create our sculptures in 3D Studio Max and render the two best frames of our sculptures, as well as to create an animation that the best angles all the way around the sculpture. Our "wires" could use any appropriate sweep profile, and had to meet the ground in at least 3 locations. We were each given a wire with which we could create mock-ups, and were then given a 3D Studio Max file including all objects necessary to create our animations.
